- Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s Department of Agriculture, Agribusiness, and Environmental Science invites applicants for a 9-month, non-tenure-track position (100% teaching [four 3 credit hour courses per semester]) in Agribusiness at the MS Lecturer/Instructional Assistant Professor level to begin as early as Fall semester 2020. We are seeking candidates with a passion for teaching principles that link agriculture and business management, and that are effective communicators to teaching undergraduates with diverse backgrounds at the RELLIS campus. Although the program is based at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK), this unique position is located at Texas A&M’s RELLIS Campus in Bryan, TX. Expected to teach undergraduate classes, develop courses, and advise students for the agribusiness degree program at the TAMU RELLIS campus; recruit students for Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Provide leadership and strategic planning to expand course offerings in the program. Mentor students for career placement. Supervise internship courses. Collaborate with other faculty at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Perform other duties as assigned.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A M.S. or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the appointment date, and demonstrated success in and commitment to teaching. Excellence in interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are expected. The candidate must have the ability to function independently and to work effectively within a team. Applicant must have a M.S., Ph.D. or doctorate, in a relevant field, from an accredited institution by August 15, 2020. SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine month, non-tenure-track position to begin start of Fall semester (near August 25, 2020). Three year contract renewable based on satisfactory performance review. RESPONSIBILITIES: The preferred candidate will have experience teaching in both classroom and online learning environments, demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, and will demonstrate an ability to work with diverse populations. The AGBU-RELLIS program will be instructed primarily face-to-face, with some course possibly from a distance education format to students at TAMU-Kingsville. The successful applicant will be a critical member of a collaborative agriculture teaching team in an established agribusiness program that is expanding from TAMUK to RELLIS and to a fully distance education program. The incumbent is expected to establish an effective teaching program and course rotation to facilitate timely matriculation and completion of degrees. Graduate student mentoring in collaboration with TAMU-Kingsville students is highly encouraged within the Dick & Mary Lewis Kleberg College of Agriculture & Natural Resources.
