Description
Duties include: Teach courses in agricultural economics, agricultural financial management, agricultural marketing, or agribusiness management. Teaching assignment will depend on the candidate’s areas of interest and expertise. Teaching responsibilities include four classes with laboratories (12-credit hours/semester) each semester at the Assistant Professor rank or five courses with laboratories each semester (15 credit hours/semester) at the Lecturer rank. Serve as an academic advisor to students in the BS in Agribusiness degree program at the Assistant Professor rank. Assist with student clubs and organizations. Participate in administrative, service, and scholarly activities at the Assistant Professor rank. Work effectively as a member of a faculty team to continually update and improve degree programs and student learning experiences. Active engagement in industry and professional organizations. Other duties associated with the advancement of the Department of Agriculture, School Position Summary: The Department of Agriculture in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Agribusiness. This is a 10-month tenure track position (Assistant Professor rank) or 10-month non-tenure track position (Lecturer rank). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, advise students and student organizations; engage in scholarly activities, and engage in service-related activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics or closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours related directly to the major (Assistant Professor rank). A Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or closely related field may be considered (Lecturer rank) Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to use current technology in support of instructional activities (including laboratories). Primary interest in and firm commitment to undergraduate education. Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Ability to work effectively with alumni and industry to develop partnerships, donations, and other support for our academic mission. Desired Qualifications: Desired Qualifications: Experience in teaching and advising at the college-level. A record of successful extramural funding and scholarly activities. A background in agricultural marketing, agribusiness management, and risk management is preferred.
