Description
The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at The Ohio State University seeks applications for an Assistant Professor in Regional/Rural/Urban Economics, with a focus on economic development in rural communities representative of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. We are seeking an individual to develop a cutting-edge research, teaching and extension program in regional economics that explores the interactions between local rural and urban communities, industries, policies, and economies. The appointee will have an academic year (9 month) appointment in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics with competitive salary and benefits package and is expected to develop and maintain a world-class research program in their field of inquiry, teach 1-2 classes in our undergraduate, masters, and/or PhD programs, and develop a research-based extension/outreach program that includes planned educational activities and translational materials for extension educators addressing local stakeholder needs. The Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics (aede.osu.edu) is a premier department of applied economics that values excellence in research, teaching and outreach to fulfill our departmental commitment to the land-grant mission of The Ohio State University. AEDE’s world-class faculty currently serves 80 PhD students, 20 M.S. students and 500 undergraduate majors in four programs: A top-rated applied economics Ph.D. degree; an M.S. and Masters in Applied Economics degree; a B.S. major in Agribusiness and Applied Economics; and in partnership with the School of Environmental and Natural Resources, a rapidly growing B.S. major in Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability. Qualifications: Applicants must possess a PhD in agricultural economics, applied economics, economics, or related field.
