As we find ourselves settling in for another semester of classes and university life, we continue to bring to your attention an issue that persists in capturing the attention and concern of college campus communities across the nation—Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence.
Haven (undergraduate students) and Haven+ (graduate/professional students), the EverFi internet modules focused on sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking are currently required for all Texas A&M University students (except Qatar students – unless they take classes at one of the Texas A&M University locations). In future semesters, only incoming students will be required to take the training.
Part of being able and ready to assist a fellow Aggie comes from an understanding of the issues surrounding behaviors associated with sexual harassment and sexual violence. As a result of this need for education, and a desire to work towards a safer community for all members, we are requiring all incoming students to engage in our online education program called Haven. You are asked to complete this education in two parts: pre- and post-education. You have until Friday, September 21, 2018 to complete Part I. After an intersession of 30 days, you will receive an email notification to complete Part 2. The deadline for completing Part 2 of the course is Friday, November 16, 2018. Keep in mind that these dates are tentative and subject to change. We suggest completing both parts as soon as you are able as course registration holds will be placed for failure to complete this required training.
The Offices of the Dean of Student Life sent out a bulk email providing students with information about the requirement and the link to get into the system. The links for the trainings are currently listed in the student life tab of Howdy under required trainings.
On the 21st class day (September 24, 2018) a hold will be placed on every student’s record. The hold will be automatically lifted for every student who has completed Part 1 of the training. The hold will have a phone number that goes to a voicemail instructing students to complete the HAVEN training.
Exemptions from trainings may be requested at http://studentlife.tamu.edu/HavenExemptionRequest
We ask that people review the FAQ at http://studentlife.tamu.edu/havenfaq before requesting an exemption.

Please take what you learn with Haven and share it with friends for the information could help you or a friend avoid a bad situation. But, should you or a friend need the support and resources, know that there are people here at Texas A&M to assist you through the process.
